Ready and Forward
Vol. 3 (November 2005)
Greetings Soldiers, it’s been a while since our
last newsletter and we do have some news to
share from the previous months.

Fall is quickly passing us by and winter is just
around the corner.  Here we go with the high
gas bills to heat our homes.  Anyway I’d like to
acknowledge those of you who celebrated a
birthday, anniversary, graduation, retirement,
new job, new addition to the family etc.  Best
wishes and many more to come.

One notable mention goes out to Skeptic on
her selection for Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S.
Army (we can't wait for the promotion party).
Lady Enforcer was promoted to Corporal, with
the Caddo Parish Sheriff Dept.  Way to go and
we are so proud of you.

Moving on, about mid summer we had our
annual cookout and it went off with out any
glitches and many thanks to those who helped
buy, prepare, and cook the meal.  The event
was such a hit we had our sister chapter from
New Orleans take part and we thank y’all for
coming to party with us.

I’d like to take this time to congratulate all of
our members who made it past probation and
received their centerpiece.  Soldiers that
made it are as follows, yours truly, Mac Daddy,
Preacher Man, Skeptic and Doc Matrix.

We also have new machines within our club.
Soulja acquired a new 2006 Electra Glide Ultra
Classic, Skeptic purchased a new 2005 Road
King Custom, Preacher Man bought a new 2005
Electra Glide Police Edition and our very own
president got rid of his Hayabusa (crotch-
rocket), and acquired a 2005 Yamaha V-Star.
In October we had our annual Sickle Cell
fundraiser.  We collected over $200.00 for this
worthy cause.  Thanks goes out to all who
participated.

Furthermore, we participated in the annual
Operation Stand Down, Sponsored by Overton
Brooks V.A. Medical Center and the Salvation
Army. This is an event to help homeless
veterans and others by providing them with
clothing, haircuts, dental and other comforts
for their well being.

In commemoration of Veterans Day, we
participated in festivities at Overton Brooks
VA Medical Center, “Veterans for Veterans”.
There were over 300 bikes including
numerous clubs and individualists, live band
and a glorious parade down and over Red
River.  All proceeds from this function were
donated to Overton Brooks VAMC.  This was
the first event of its kind and we can’t wait
until next year.

During the month of November, we presented
Thanksgiving Baskets and clothing to the
Providence House, a homeless shelter for
displaced families.  We hope the food and
toiletries will make Thanksgiving a little
brighter for the less fortunate during the
holiday season.

Well that’s it for this edition soldiers- PEACE.
