Becoming a member of NABSTMC Shreveport is a journey of commitment, camaraderie, and service. Review the requirements below and apply when you're ready to ride with purpose.

THE PATH TO MEMBERSHIP

Your Journey to Full Patch

Hang Around

3 MONTHS MINIMUM

Attend chapter events, rides, and meetings as a guest. Get to know the members and let them get to know you.

Probie Status

6–18 MONTHS

After a majority vote, begin your probationary period. Complete mileage requirements, community service, and chapter duties.

Full Patch Member

FOR LIFE

Receive your full patch after a majority vote of the chapter membership. Welcome to the brotherhood.

MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA

Requirements

Must complete a membership application.
Consent to and pass a background check.
No felony record.
Complete a period of at least three (3) months as a "Hang Around" before consideration for probationary (Probie) status.
The Probie Manager will make a recommendation to the general membership for a Hang Around to be considered for probationary status.
A chapter majority vote is required for a Hang Around to achieve probationary status.
Complete all probationary requirements.
Must have a current driver license endorsement to legally operate a motorcycle.
Must maintain current insurance on their motorcycle.
Must own a road-worthy operable motorcycle of at least 750cc.

Minimum age of 21 years old.
Pay all applicable administrative fees and contributions.
Complete a probationary period that is a minimum of six (6) months.
Complete the chapter probationary period minimum mileage requirement of 2,500 miles, with a minimum of two (2) overnight rides with the chapter. Mileage requirement must be met on a motorcycle, Can Am Spyder, or trike and be documented/approved by the Chapter Road Captain.
Complete a community service project that is separate from any existing Chapter community service project and approved by the Probie Manager.
The probationary period may be extended up to 18 months for failing to meet items 4 and 5.
Each Probie will be assigned a Full Patch Member as a sponsor.
Must attend all meetings, rides, and chapter activities as directed by the sponsor and/or Probie Manager. Excusal from activities may be granted by the Probie Manager or Chapter Sgt.-at-Arms.
Complete all Probie "duties" as assigned.
Read and understand the National Constitution, NABSTMC Handbook, and Chapter Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Receive majority vote of chapter membership to become a full patched member.

Must be sponsored by a Full Patch member.
Must complete a three (3) month "Hang Around" period as outlined above.
Must complete a six (6) month probationary period as outlined above.
No Full Patch member will sponsor more than one Associate.

Associate Membership is available to wives, husbands, significant others, girlfriends, boyfriends, relatives, or friends of the chapter membership who are not eligible for full membership status but want to be involved with the Buffalo Soldiers.
