Investing in the next generation by providing scholarships to deserving graduating high school seniors in the Shreveport community — honoring the Buffalo Soldiers' legacy of service and excellence.
OUR COMMITMENT
Our annual scholarship program is open to graduating seniors attending Caddo/Bossier Parish and surrounding area high schools. The scholarship award is a minimum of $1,000 that may be used for qualified expenses at any institution of higher learning or trade school, to include tuition, books, fees, supplies, and equipment.
The scholarship committee will choose at least two recipients based on a point system determined by the quality of the scholarship packet and competitiveness of the candidate. One recipient will be selected to compete at the Frontier level for an additional funds, and if successful, may compete for an additional scholarship at the National level.

REQUIREMENTS
Must be a graduating senior attending Caddo/Bossier Parish and surrounding area high schools
Scholarship may be used for tuition, books, fees, supplies, and equipment at any institution of higher learning or trade school
Must submit a completed scholarship application packet
Committee selects at least two recipients based on quality of packet and competitiveness of candidate
One recipient will compete at the Frontier level for additional scholarship funds ($10,000 total at Frontier level)
Frontier winner may compete for an additional $5,000 at the National level
APPLICATION REQUIREMENT
Applicants are asked to write about the legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers and how their values of courage, service, and perseverance apply to their own life and future goals.

Submit your completed packet to the scholarship committee by the posted deadline.
The committee reviews all submissions and selects recipients based on academic merit and community service.
