The NABSTMC Shreveport Chapter is proud to award scholarships to deserving graduating high school seniors in the Shreveport, Louisiana area. This program reflects our core mission of community service and education — values that the original Buffalo Soldiers embodied throughout their historic service.
We believe that investing in young people is one of the most powerful ways to honor the legacy of the 9th and 10th Cavalry Regiments. By supporting students who demonstrate academic achievement, community involvement, and strong character, we carry that legacy forward.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a graduating high school senior in the Shreveport, LA area
- ✓
Must demonstrate academic achievement and community involvement
- ✓
Must submit a completed application with all required documentation
- ✓
Must provide two letters of recommendation
- ✓
Must write a personal essay on the legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers
- ✓
Must maintain a minimum GPA as specified in the application

ESSAY TOPIC
Applicants are asked to write about the legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers and how their values of courage, service, and perseverance apply to their own life and future goals.

Gather Documents
Collect all required materials including transcripts, letters of recommendation, proof of enrollment, and any supporting documentation.
Write Your Essay
Compose a personal essay reflecting on the legacy of the Buffalo Soldiers and how their values of service, courage, and perseverance inspire you.
Submit Application
Submit your completed application packet by the posted deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
